こんばんは。（Good evening）
先週、ヤマティのブログにおいても取り上げられていたカンボジア人留学生。
（Last week, a Cambodian student was featured in Yamaty's blog.）
彼のあだ名は、ハミー君です。(His nickname is Hammy.)
久しぶりに姉妹校のパニアッサストラ大学から留学に来てくれ、とても嬉しい気持ちでいっぱいです。
(It has been a while since he came to study abroad from our sister school, Pannassastra University, and we are very happy to have him here.)
実は、今年の2月に現地カンボジアを訪問した時に、私たちは彼に出会っていたんです。
彼は、カンボジア国際交流プロジェクトが現地で開催した「SAKURAFESTIVAL」の実行委員でした。ここ広島でまた再会することができるとは想像もできませんでしたね。
(Actually, we had met him when we visited Cambodia there in February this year.
He was a member of the executive committee of the "SAKURAFESTIVAL" held there by the Cambodia International Exchange Project. I never imagined that we would meet again here in Hiroshima.)
こちらは2月に訪問した時の写真です。（Here are some photos when we visited Cambodia in February.）
プロジェクトメンバーたちは、「SAKURA FESITIVAL」開催中に、本学の留学情報のＰＲをしていました。その話を聞き、彼は本学に興味を持ってくれたのかもしれないですね。
(During the "SAKURA FESTIVAL," the project members were promoting information about studying abroad at HUE. Perhaps he heard about it and became interested in our university.)
さて、ハミー君ですが、本日は、カンボジア国際交流プロジェクトの会議に参加しました。
(Now, Hammy, today, he participated in a meeting of the Cambodia International Exchange Project.)
はじめは緊張した様子でしたが、自己紹介やメンバーからの質問を通し、少しずつ緊張もほぐれたようです。
(At first, he looked nervous, but through self-introductions and questions from the members, he seemed to relax little by little.)
「カンボジアのオススメの場所はどこですか？」
「好きなスポーツは何ですか？」
など、いろいろな質問がメンバーからありました。
(They asked questions such as, "Where is your favorite place in Cambodia?
What is your favorite sport?)
会議終了後、ハミー君が興動館1階受付に顔を見せてくれました。
(After the meeting, Hammy came to the reception desk on the first floor of the Koudoukan.)
どうだった？と聞くと、「とても楽しかった」と満面の笑みで答えてくれました。
I asked him ,How was it? He answered with a big smile, "It was a lot of fun.
これから半年間、クメール語講座や副読本の翻訳などで、カンボジア国際交流プロジェクトに関わってくれます。
(For the next six months, he will be involved in the Cambodia International Exchange Project through Khmer language classes and translation of supplementary reading materials.)
本当にこれからが楽しみですねー。(We are really looking forward to his future!)
